For more than a decade Nuneaton Arts have been in discussions with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council about a new purpose-built Theatre and Arts Centre. Proposals have been made and a Feasibility Study completed by a respected external specialist. This has now become part of the wider Transforming Nuneaton project, with the involvement of Warwickshire County Council, the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership and other bodies.
Some funding has been awarded from the Government’s Towns Fund for improvements to the Museum and Art Gallery and for work in the Abbey Street area. Warwickshire County Council have committed funds to the new Library and Business Centre and for road improvements. It is hoped that the next stage of the project will include a Theatre, Arts and Conference centre, and that central government funding will be available to assist with this.
